People The Philippines is a country located in South-East Asia. Its capital is Manila. Its citizens are called Filipinos. Filipinos are known to be religious and hardworking.

Languages The Philippines has many languages like Cebuano, Bisaya, Kapampangan, Ilokano, Bikol and Pangasinan. The two official ones are English and Filipino.

Employment Almost all people in rural areas are farmers and fishermen, while in the urban areas, many people are employed in buisnesses.

Famous Landmarks/Tourism The most famous and most visited places in the Philippines are Rizal Park in Manila, Magellan's Cross in Cebu, the Chocolate Hills in Bohol, the old City of Intramuros, the Banaue Rice Terraces and the Auginaldo Shrine in Kawit, Cavite.

Resources Wood, steel, gold, silver, copper, salt, nickel, bamboo and rattan.

Celebrations and Festivals The most famous celebrations and festivals are Christmas (Pasko), New Year Celebration (Bagaong Taon), Ati-Atihan, Pahiyas, Sinulog, Mariones, Santacruzan, Higantes, Maskara and Independence Day (Araw ng Kalayaan), which is celebrated on the 12th of June every year.

Flora Bamboo, Orchids, Roses, Sampaguita, Palm Trees, Aloe Vera and some fruiting plants.

Fauna Tarsiers, monkeys, the Philippine Eagle and many jungle animals and insects such as iguanas, crocodiles, centipedes and many kinds of spiders.

Housing The traditional Filipino house is the bahay kubo (hut), but normal houses are being used to live in.
